Chinese delegation of the Department of Economy and Trade visits Dürkopp Adler

Three representatives of the Department of Economy and Trade of the People's Republic of China visited the headquarters of Dürkopp Adler in Bielefeld on June

14 ^th, 2016. The delegation led by Mr. Wang Weidong (Minister-Counsellor, Trade & Economy) was welcomed by Michael Kilian (Spokesman of the managing board of Dürkopp Adler AG) and Thomas Vogel (Head of Finance and HR).

On the occasion of the visit discussions were held on the steadily increasing investments of Chinese enterprises in Germany. Apart from economic topics, as e.g. the support of Dürkopp Adler AG by Chinese investors during the economic crisis 2008/2009, the focus was also on the difficulties caused by cultural differences and linguistic barriers. Furthermore, the guests showed great interest in a guided tour through the production facilities as well as in the presentation of the core products in the showroom.

The SGE Group, shareholder of Dürkopp Adler AG, is considered as one of the pioneers as well as one of the most successful Chinese investors in Germany, thus setting an example for further Chinese investments in the German economy.

The Department of Economy and Trade of the embassy was pleased with this exchange of information and experience.
