Presentation of the IHK Education Award 2016 in Berlin
For the second time after 2014 the
IHK Education Award 2016 was presented in the bcc / Berlin Congress Center
this year. More than 100 companies applied for the IHK Education Award. An expert jury had checked
all applicants in advance and selected each three finalists in the categories small enterprises (up
to 50 employees), medium-sized enterprises (between 50 and 500 employees) and large enterprises
(more than 500 employees). Apart from these nine applicants characterized by a full and
comprehensive commitment in the field of vocational training further three companies were nominated
for a special prize. These three applicants are distinguishedby extraordinarily creative and
innovative measures for securing skilled personnel. On February 15
th, 2016, more than 300 chamber of commerce examiners, chosen from approx. 170,000
honorary examiners, decided nationwide which four of the finalists were nominated as award winners
who finally could take home the popular IHK education prize. A member of the jury selecting

Jürgen Seidler, training manager of Dürkopp Adler AG, who was appointed to the
jury by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Ostwestfalen in Bielefeld. The journalist and
presenter Oliver Welke born in Bielefeld and well-known from television moderated the event in a
humorous way. He himself is involved in the organisation “weitblick” promoting an
improved access to educational institutions.
