Dürkopp Adler successfully stops copyist from China from infringement of IP rights
CHNKI Precision Sewing Machine Co., Ltd. pays damages to Dürkopp Adler
The largest European manufacturer of industrial sewing machines, Dürkopp Adler, keeps fighting
on broad front against the infringement of his intellectual property rights in China. The German
based machine manufacturer has sued the Chinese company CHNKI Precision Sewing Machine
Co., Ltd. for the infringement of its patents through CHNKI´s eyelet buttonhole sewing machines MEB
1580 and 1580A in China.
In October 2015 the parties have agreed in a law suit in front of Shanghai No.1 Intermediate
People’s Court that CHNKI undertakes to respect the concerned patent rights of Dürkopp Adler and
immediately ceases and desists from manufacturing and selling its eyelet buttonhole sewing machine
MEB-1580 and MEB-1580A series and its follow up models. Moreover CHNKI shall pay damages to Dürkopp
Adler.
Dürkopp Adler as innovation leader of the industrial sewing machine industry is a popular
target of copyists worldwide. Since several years the key area of IP violations is located in
China, where machines are copied and IP rights are violated on large scale. Dürkopp Adler is firmly
discouraging unauthorized use of its industrial property rights and is determined to further pursue
the infringement of its IP rights.
