Heimtextil 2012 with more exhibitors, around 70,000 visitors and a very high level of satisfaction with contacts and orders

Heimtextil 2012 closed its doors last Saturday after achieving an excellent set of results. With 2,634 exhibitors from 61 countries, the number of manufacturers of home and contract textiles taking part was up 2.4 percent on the year before and the atmosphere at the fair was correspondingly good. “The exhibitors were delighted with the number of decision makers, the quality of the contacts, the orders placed and the number of new business contacts at Heimtextil 2012”, said Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt, summarizing the opinion of exhibitors as reflected by the end-of-fair poll. German exhibitors were particularly pleased with their results – no less than 84 percent said their participation had been successful to very successful, a significant increase on the previous year (77 percent). Even higher was the level of satisfaction on the visitor side where 92 percent said they were satisfied to very satisfied with the range of products on show and the course of business at the fair.

On behalf of the German industry, Martin Auerbach, Director of the Association of the German Home Textile Industry (Verband der Deutschen Heimtextilien-Industrie), Wuppertal, summed up the situation as follows: “For our members and the entire sector, Heimtextil 2012 has been a highly satisfactory event. As the opening trade fair of the year, it generated even more new contacts, innovations and orders than the year before and this will motivate us greatly over the coming year. Additionally, Heimtextil has continued to improve in qualitative terms. Specific areas, such as the contract sector, the coupon business and sustainability, have been tailored perfectly to the needs of buyers from the distributive trades, the handicrafts trade and the contract business. Thus, Messe Frankfurt has further increased its expertise in the field of trade fairs for the textile sector.

For Duerkopp Adler the fair Heimtextil was a good start into 2012!
On a 20 sq.m. booth eight innovative sewing solutions were successfully presented, for interior as well as for home and decorative textiles.
The focus was on the 70cm long, heavy double-needle sewing machine out of the M-type platform. The majorityof visitors rather came from the creative or purchase department, which were impressed by the new and modern production possibilities.

Due to different needs of the visitors, Duerkopp Adler has shown a wide range of products. Besides the high end machines, a typical craftsman machine as class DA 267. Therefore, a wide variety of interest was to notice. Michael Baumann, representative of Duerkopp Adler: “We are surprised about the high visitor traffic from European countries. Due to the crisis in many countries, we had expected a noticeable decline of European visitor’s numbers. But the international customer’s didn´t miss the opportunity to get informed comprehensively and some had contact for the first time with our brand”.

Heimtextil is one of the best fairs to see the latest developments in this market segment. Against the background of orders and new contacts there is no doubt that Duerkopp Adler will come back to Frankfurt from 09.01.-12.01.2013!
