Aug 7, 2014:
Future-oriented inventions and innovations at the KSL in-house show on the occasion of the company’s 50th anniversary
On the occasion of its 50
th anniversary the KSL Keilmann Sondermaschinenbau GmbH held an in-house exhibition for
its trade visitors followed by a celebration for guests and employees from July 7
th to 10
th, 2014.
Sewing technology „made in Lorsch“ is high-tech – and yet it looks back on a long tradition.
Keilmann was founded in Lorsch exactly 50 years ago. Today the company’s name is „Keilmann
Sondermaschinenbau Lorsch“.
KSL belongs to the technological leaders in its branch of industry. „We are inventors“, says
the Managing Director Robert Keilmann, „we are known for innovations in the field of automated
sewing technology worldwide “. The enterprise has an export rate of 80%. So it is not surprising
that customers and business partners from 20 countries, e.g. from Europe, Turkey, Tunisia, the USA,
India and China, visited the in-house show.
Since 2013 KSL has been a member of the ShangGong Europe group to which the sewing technology
leaders Dürkopp Adler and Pfaff Industrial belong, too.
With a total of 40 exhibits the innovations of these three manufacturers of sewing and welding
technology were presented at the in-house show making this event a technological highlight of the
trade fair year 2014.
Live demonstrations of production processes were to be seen on many machines, for example a
high-speed manufacturing system for filter pockets, CNC sewing units, welding technology, airbag
production, carbon fibre applications, industrial sewing machines and state-of-the-art robot
technology. All this reflects the customer portfolio of the three companies: automotive, aerospace,
filters, home textiles, fashion and a lot of further branches count on the innovative strength of
these three specialists.
A show hall filled with numerous exhibits, a lively symposium and many interested visitors
made the in-house exhibition a full success.
The guests were enthusiastic about the exciting impressions gathered during their stay with
KSL: a review of the history of sewing technology, innovations in the processing of technical
textiles and a glance at the future of automation.
